In short
RIBY.PL hires out RIB boats only with a skipper, for a minimum of 1 hour. The boat takes up to 8 people, and the price includes the boat, skipper, fuel and safety equipment. We start from Marina Gdynia (Al. Jana Pawła II), and for trips longer than an hour also from Sopot. The most popular 1 h route: Gdynia – Orłowo – Torpedo Station.

Boat hire or boat charter?
Firstly, boat hire is a landlubber's term. In motorboating terminology, people say boat charter. However, since we want to be understood by as many of our clients as possible, let's stick with the term boat hire.
Our RIB boat take up to 8 people on board. You can go on a motorboat ride on your own, but emotions like these are more fun to experience in a group – and the cost of the charter is spread over more people. For larger groups we provide additional boats.
Where do we set off from?
We are based at Marina Gdynia (Al. Jana Pawła II, next to the Mercure Hotel). Trip time is counted from leaving the marina until returning.
For trips longer than one hour, it is also possible to start and finish in Sopot (Marina Sopot at the end of the pier) – with no additional costs for sailing from/to Gdynia.
Important: We do not hire out boats for trips shorter than one hour.
What does boat hire include?
The hire fee includes:
- A RIB boat
- An experienced skipper
- Fuel
- Safety equipment
We do not hire out boats without a skipper – we ensure safety and tell you about the history of the region during the trip.
Where can we go?
Depending on time and budget, we can plan:
- Gulf of Gdańsk – open sea, speed, adrenaline
- Gdańsk – port canals, the Old Town from the water, Sobieszewo Island
- Sopot – views of the pier, the cliff, the Grand Hotel
- Gdynia – the port, Orłowo, Orłowo Cliff, Babie Doły Torpedo Station
- Hel Peninsula – Hel, Jastarnia, Jurata, Kuźnica, Chałupy
- Rewa Spit – wild beach, peace and quiet

Popular 1 h route: Gdynia – Orłowo – Torpedo Station
The most popular boat trip from Gdynia lasting one hour goes to Orłowo, where you can admire the pier, Orłowo Cliff and the remains of the Artillery Battery. Then we sail along the port of Gdynia to the Babie Doły Torpedo Station – remains of Kriegsmarine activity from the Second World War.
Throughout the trip we talk about the history of the region and maritime curiosities. With a bit of luck, in the summer season you can see some of the largest cruise ships in the world in the port.

Can I hire a boat for half an hour?
No, the minimum hire time is one hour.
Do I need a motorboat licence?
No. The boat is always driven by our skipper – you are a passenger.
How many people can go in one boat?
Up to 8 people on one boat. For larger groups we organise trips with several boats.
Can we set off from Sopot?
Yes, for trips longer than 1 hour it is possible to start and finish at Marina Sopot (at the end of the pier).
What if the weather is bad?
Safety is the priority. In bad conditions we may postpone or cancel the trip – we always let you know in advance.
How far can you go in 1 hour?
In an hour you can do the Gdynia – Orłowo – Torpedo Station – Gdynia route or similar. The Hel Peninsula needs more time (e.g. Gdynia → Hel is about 30 minutes one way). Check out our water taxi.
