We Poles know very well what Westerplatte is and how important it is for us to preserve the memory of this place. We have had many foreigners on board our boats, and almost every time we asked whether they knew what Westerplatte was, we saw surprise on their faces. For us it is therefore an important stop during our trip – where we remind those who have forgotten and explain to those who did not know what Westerplatte means to us.
