Unless you take a moment to find this place, it is hard to guess that the cliff hills of Gdynia are dotted with the remains of the Artillery Battery infrastructure.
The Gdynia part is BAS 11. Construction was completed in mid-1946. It was maintained only until 1950. Since then, the Battery, consisting of 3 emplacements, fell into oblivion and gradually deteriorated. For 2 years the Gdynia authorities have been trying to restore the former glory of the last emplacement, which can be admired essentially intact. Its sister emplacements fell into the sea due to cliff erosion. The last of them was pushed down in a controlled way in 2012, as it posed a threat to walkers on the beach.
