The Port of Gdańsk turning basin and the place where the shipyard grounds begin. What catches the eye are the huge dry docks, often occupied by sizeable vessels under repair.
Today the shipyard is divided into smaller companies. The shipyard grounds are gradually being absorbed by the city. We must remember, however, that this is the cradle of Solidarity and a witness to many dramatic events of the communist era.
