Winter comes to Marina Gdynia

Actually, the winter is not harsh. In fact, these are the first real frosts. The snow is admittedly already dirty and there isn't much of it, but snow cannons are running on the slopes, and by the sea the elements are playing up. A good winter storm, and Marina Gdynia looks as if blizzards and bitter frosts were raging all around. You would be hard pressed to find anyone keen to board one of our RIB boats. I must honestly admit that even we find it hard to imagine launching a boat.
Although we have already sailed in worse conditions. Suffice it to recall when we provided safety cover for Marek Kamiński's winter Vistula Expedition. We followed Marek in a RIB boat in more than 20 degrees of frost. On the bank there were piled-up ice floes several metres high. The height of it all was when, after a night spent in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, we had to clear a huge amount of snow off the boat. We held on, because Marek Kamiński gave the impression that such temperatures were normal and he didn't understand why we were cold. But if he called us again, we wouldn't hesitate for a moment 🙂
